Importantly, nah, you'll be fine. Moreover, I just have no idea what some of the sentences are supposed to say. Interestingly, random words are fun to have in a sentence. On the other hand, sometimes it's better to stop a sentence mid-thought. And, when talking about a human gene, always use the nomenclature for a xenopus protein.

Indeed. Short sentences are better than long ones in scientific writing. However, adjectives should not be abused. Most definitely, the right nomenclature is to be used, else rejection is imminent.
