Through the dark
BB san is fine- He returned to his home country after his PhD- that's why he's not been on here, I think he's taking a break from it all, Hopefully his J-friends are fine too, he worked down in Hiroshima- so pretty far from the quake.
I can't help but look, and then I get upset...not good, not good at all.

thanks tj....they're always prepared for quakes, tsunami, volcanic eruptions, etc. but not of that magnitude..and also not for the nuclear meltdown which is now the new crisis...draaat to top it all off......
por una cabeza
i hope they can control it
accordian music
Hopefully the other reactors can be stabilized, but I always thought it was odd that the most earthquake prone country (and full of active volcanoes) would choose to build nuclear powerstations, when it is a giant floating fault line pretty much.
It must be awful to have survived a huge earthquake, devastating tsunami to then have to evacuate and worry about radiation poisoning
music to my ears
actually, they're now pumping tons and tons of salt water to cool them down but... salt water? Guess where it's all gonna end up? I think they were so sure of the technology and never anticipated a magnitude 9 quake....

is there a leak?
all i saw were the explosions... they weren't radioactive, were they?
prone to
there was a explosion on a reactor, and feared explosion of a second one. i'm almost sure i read there were some radioactive leaks and the people in charge are very careful about the things they say...

i've been watching the german news (i don't understand 95% of what they say)... and they said the people were being given iodine tablets, but levels were normal. i need to go back to reading the news...
tasty blood
levels were about 2x the allowed daily dosis, which, considering there was a leak, is not extremely high.
