does it really matter if the abstract is so different from the work presented?
it's not the end of the world.
and really, if you don't want to go to italy for a poster... i'll present it for you. i, like, totally know all about plants and stuff. seriously, i'd go just to have a good cup of coffee.
Roger
so listen to us, tj....... and you can have the best tiramisu over there.....what more can you ask for?
Dodger
Yes- poster presentations are even better than talks- so much less stress and more chance to drink beer and eat tiramisu
viper
you people... are the best!
just made me feel all i've done is crap, but yeah, poster is less stress. they do have some italian beer called peroni, which i'm not a big fan of, but there should be more, right? at least i've heard the coffee is amazing.
snake
we are the best. no bias what so ever.
posters will give just as much (sometimes even more) feedback than a talk. one on one info and all that stuff.
edit: the coffee is amazing

and it is not even decided yet... the bad feeling is dissipating. back to the lab.

Great! Get going and chin up TJ!

Hi folks...and good luck TJ...
I don't like posters, it's much more work, as you have to condense all onto a then tiny place and for several day all questionable stuff (and all errors) are visible to the people and they have lots of time to find all the stuff they should not see...a presentation you have more space, and after 15-20 min it's over. people have anyway no time to realise the inconsistencies...
and talks are better for the CV

great, great dr H...here we are trying to convince tj to go even if just to eat the tiramisu....a poster presentation is still better than not going at all....besides, let the people knock themselves up trying to find all the errors- you shld be able to defend your work still....or more importantly, learn from the comments and critiques....
