I hadno idea about American health care before a friend was telling me she was having headache, vomiting, and had sudden blurred vision. In Canada, you would prolly call an ambulance or go to the nearest hospital but not in US. and she has one of those insurances but is not sure what is covered and what not and which hospital to go to. Calling wrong ambulance for wrong reason at that time would have cost her a lot. I didnt expect that in a developed country.

Its true- at least you know if you have an accident you don't have to worry.
Norway is one of my favourite places I've been too. probably they can do all of this because their population is pretty small- only 5million.
property
yeah. Probably because of that. Sicko kind of scared me.

yup, I agree and for really costly procedures- transplants, cancer treatment etc., we don't need to pay so one point for our medicare......and we're also only about 35 million, a tenth of the States (?)...so healthcare budgets are still manageable....and here, you also pay for the ambulance, BB-san....but it's covered if you have a private supplementary health plan..

Although our systems aren't perfect, at least you will still get treatment regardless of what you are or what you have or where you are.
Ishihara
Cassandra, you should watch the movie/documentary.
NHS has a good system and we studied about it but only after watching Sicko, I understood how well that works. The part about the 'Cashier' was amazing.
Opthamology
They also use ambulances to drop some people back at home. Its not all rosy and glowing though, the last decade has really strained the health service inthe UK and its struggling to cope, but I don't think it could be got rid of.
Dermatology
Well, it all looked like paradise. For us, health care is a luxury that not everyone can afford and it's frustrating to work sometimes when patients have to be asked to choose between necessary blood work or medicine for their disease as they can afford just one and sometimes not even that.
AhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHHH! BTW, did we miss PI's wedding already?_
rheumatology
You did, it was last weekend- I guess he's on his honeymoon
pain
