but mostly harmless idiots, here hooligans would grasp the instruments of that marching band and bash the band musicians

you keep forgetting that we are very laidback, peaceful and non-confrontational- one of the nicest people on earth ....I think we had about 30 homicides last year- from a population of 3 million and that's still a lot compared to the previous years...so who do you think would dare to grab the band's instruments?
rocket
well for what is the police necessary then? anyway they're then hooligan-wannabes...
Maurice Richard
just for show......just look at our mounties...a good thing there are no wild bulls running around in our streets....of course there are always criminal elements but they're just skulking somewhere else....

crook
folklore- which one- the mounties? Oh yeah.......actually, Toronto had the "year of the gun" a few years ago but it is still quite safe compared with cities in the US of the same size.....I think we have a lot of these comparative studies about crime rates etc.
G.W. Bush

in the big cities, I doubt it but even the small communities now are learning to lock their front doors....besides, it's too cold for the criminals to hang around...
domesticated
really? perhaps too many us-thieves watched that Moore-film
husband
perhaps they did... too bad for them, anyways, you have to lock your doors, otherwise you are promoting robbery...you can get a ticket here if you left your car doors unlocked or if they're broken and won't lock, at first, you'd get a warning to have them fixed if you won't, then they can give you a ticket too....nice, eh?
