I?m quite new in this field, but I?d like clarification on something.

Let?s say perchance, I have good reason to believe (from computational analyzes) that a particular bug expresses a certain protein relevant to disease, but this hasn?t been experimentally validated.

What are the available methods for such novel protein identification and characterization in a laboratory?

Immunoassay, western blot, peptide isolation and sequencing, enzyme assay (if it’s an enzyme), microarray analysis are but a few.
