Hi there everyone,

from my 4 years experience in the lab for PhD, I would like to advice anyone going to start in the lab especially for long time (years,...) to think about how he/she is going save, sort, retrive lab data and results on the long run.

I have developed a database program to manage the lab data (up to my skills) in an easy way, and I put it for free on the following link:

All your comments and suggestions will be considered , and I can even modify any problem detected for better function of the program
there are some calculators which need to be checked and let me know please the result and any modification required.

hope you get benefit of it.
best wishes

hm... perhaps I am a bit stupid...
M... may I know what should I do after click the link?
Shall I download the "lab-reference.mdb" file? Run it after save it?
How to use it?
It would be better if you can put more info on the page of the link.

yes you have to download it as any other link to a 'program'

then you will need microsoft access 2003 or newer versions to open it
Access is included in the microsoft office 2003 professional which most of us have.

do not hesitate to ask

I would agree that data organization is essential if you want to move forward with research.

My company currently does not have an electronic notebook format, but we do allow you to keep very good records ;)

Check out to learn more about our mLIMS system for animal management.

We also offer sequence tools, an item tracking system, an order tracking system, and general lab communication programs that are all available on-line starting at just $9/month.
