Hi,
I'm new to the radioassays, and have a few questions.
My assay currently monitors the decarboxylation of 1-14C-pyruvate (where the amount of label is negligible). I assume this is due to the specific activity of the compound increasing as less unlabeled pyruvate is present. And the formation of a pyruvate derivative where the label is present.
So, currently I calculate the amount of pyruvate lost as: Po/Pr (where Po is initial pyruvate added and Pr is the activity of Pyruvate recovered from the assay) is this correct? And the amount of pyruvate derivative gained as a reverse dilution calculation where Pr/Po? Does this seem okay?
Any help will be appreciated,
Thanks
