Nesting material is great, "nestlet" is a common brand name for compressed cotton squares that they love. If nothing else, paper towel -autoclaved or not- makes a good toy for them.

And don't forget to give a little nesting material so they can build a shelter/thermoregulate/recover better. Especially important for nude mice :)

Dehydration quite likley if there is no obvious sign of anything else. With my post-op rodents I like to soak some mouse chow in a bowl of water and then place a small cup of this mushy food into the recovery cage. Some companies also make a pre-formulated "recovery gel" which our lab uses frequently as well.

 Well how confident are you that your chimeras are actually chimeras? Do they have that patchy-fur chimeric look?

 

I'd probably take tissue samples from the F0's and keep them on ice just in case.
