DMF/DMSO - (Aug/02/2005 )

Hi - I have something (not cells) that I know will dissolve in DMF, but we don't have any! Are DMSO/DMF basically interchangable as solvents? And what sort of concentrations of DMSO or DMF do people use (I have a lyophilised organic compound)

They have similar solvent properties but they are not identical. Try dissolving a very small amount (the smallest you can pick-up) in 10µl of 100% DMSO and see how things go.
