Biotynylation of protein - How better to remove unreacted biotin? (Oct/03/2005 )

I want to biotynylate my protein with EZ-Link PFP-Biotin (Pierce). They wrote in the instruction, that you can remove unreacted biotin by use of microconcentrator (what is this?), dialysis or gel filtration.

My question is : what metod is the quickest and with less lost of protein?

we have excellent luck with dialysis, we use the Slide-a-lyzer

doesn't take too long, but like with any dialysis more buffer is better to dialyze a little bit faster

you don't lose much at all this way and it's very easy

i have not used gel filtration, can't answer for that
