What is the best non-radioactive method for Northern? - (Sep/29/2005 )

Hi,

I want to do some northern for a not-so-abundant transcript and try a non-radioactive method.

There are many choices. Ambion has psorelan-biotin labeling, Amersham has alkaline phosphatase, Fischer has horseradish peroxidase..

Is there anybody have experience with these kits?

Which one is the most sensitive, with less background and the most affordable?

Which one works well or not?

And can I re-use the membrane, when I do the non-radioactive detection?

Thank you in advance..

you can re-use the membrane, I don't know about comparisons, but we used dig-labeled oligos in our lab...
