Cloning - Electrocompetent vs chemically competent (Aug/25/2005 )

Hi!

I want to clone a fragment that is 5-7kb long, and Iwonder if I should use electrocompetent cells or chemically competent? What is the difference between the methods?

chemically competent always worked fine for me, i've used it to clone upto 8.5 kb gene, or u may go for commercial supercompetent cells.
