Problems with MES - autoclavable?? (Aug/04/2005 )

Hi

Can I to esterilize a 10% solution of MES (2-Morpholinoethanesulfonic acid, monohydrate) by autoclave?

yes you can
but MOPS doesn't support DEPC... (i don't know if you mind but i had to thow away a fresh solution because my boss told me that after...)

just ask the manufacturer. I can't tell more cause i've made a mistake in products. But may i ask you to tell us the information?

We do not
recommend that MES buffer solutions be sterilized by autoclaving, as the
solutions turn yellow and degradation may occur. MES buffer solutions
should be sterilized by sterile filtration through a 0.22 micron filter.
