Extracting DNA from whole blood - (Jul/27/2005 )

I am in need of finding the best approach of extracting DNA from whole blood. I was thinking of using Qiagen products (FlexiGene).

this protocol is used by colleagues and is cheaper as kits...
But i think you would use kits if your further exp are tough...
i don't know about qiagen kits...

Hi,

I used the qiaAmp DNA Blood Kit and it was really nice and easy to handle. The DNA I got had a good concentration and was clean. Just try it out.

I agree, good kit, easy-peasy ot use and good yields - and not too expensive!

i use NucleoSpin Blood from Macherey-Nagel. I got bout 10microgram DNA from 200 microliters bovine blood. by the way, it's clean also
