Lymphocyte Proliferation assay by Flowcytometry - (Jul/25/2005 )

Can anyone kindly let me now is there any non-radioactive assay to determine proliferation in lymphocytes. I am aware of thymidine incorporation, however would like to know about any non-radioactivity assay for the same

Yep, CFSE assay. Very good very effective. Go to Current Protocols online
(Wiley Interscience) Choose Cytometry> Search for CFSE assay

Molecular Probes also has a system using a flourescence plate reader-it will tell you an actual number. Its a nice set up and a fast readout. Only takes about 15 minutes to know whether you have proliferation vs a couple hours with thymadine or CFSE.
