restriction map of seq alignment - (Jul/19/2005 )

Hi,
Do somebody know if it's possible do a restriction map starting from an alignment of 20 seq?

thank's

i'm quite a dummy guy on this field, but what are the differences between doing a restriction map with a DNA sequence (let say a plasmid sequence for example) and an alignment sequence?...

sorry maybe I didn't explain well, I mean do the restriction map not in just one seq but in more than one at the same time. I usually use Nebcutter, but you can do the restriction map only in one seq per time

I don't know of any program capable of doing this. Every restriction map I've ever seen is for a single sequence at a time. Granted, I only ever use DNAstar.

I'm assuming you want a map noted with which sequence it refers to? If you're looking to do a restriction map for a consensus sequence, I don't think it's even possible.

If you're looking to produce such a map, you could do the aligned sequences individually, then overlay the graphics in photoshop...
