PCR interference? - (Jul/10/2005 )

Hello,
I'm trying to PCR some stuff I've just extracted from a marine snail. I'm getting plenty of DNA, but I have only infrequent success with the PCRs, although not with my positive control. I think I have some sort of protein or metabolite interfering with the rxn. Does anyone have a suggestion on a good way to clean this stuff out?
Many thanks.

Hello!
I have only an easy way to get rid of contaminants.......Just diluite your DNA (try from 1 to 10 until 1 to 10000). Try if it works!

Perform phenol-chloroform on your DNA maybe?
