Single cut vs uncut DNA - Mol. Biol. (Jun/30/2005 )

I know this is a simple question but all of a sudden I have had trouble determining the differnce between linear (single cut) and uncut DNA with one of my plasmids. Due to supercoiling uncut usually runs lower, but now my single cut is running lower than the uncut DNA, or they are running the same, but with the uncut DNA you can clearly see nicked supercoiled forms, and you can't see them on teh uncut sample.I knwo the enzymes I am using are working, for my + and - controls look OK. So I guess what I am asking is, does uncut always run lower than single cut DNA?

Thanks for your help!
