Polysaccharides co-precipitatingwith protein in ammonium sulfate - (Nov/12/2001 )

We purify proteins from fleshy fruits and sometimes something we suspect is polysaccharides precipitates as a yelly material when performing ammonium sulfate protein precipitation. We'd like to get rid of that yelly material beforesubmission to ammonium sulfate precipitation.May someone help me? Thanx

Hi there,
I have a same problem to precipitate proteins.
I do TCA precipitation and cannot remove polysaccharide.
To see clear bands in SDS-PAGE, I need to remove polysaccharide.
Proteins are precipitated from supernatant of bacterial culture.
Does anybody know how to remove extracellular polysaccharide?
Thanks,
