help-ammonium sulfate precipitation - (Jun/07/2005 )

I am new to this lab and I am following a protocol that was given to me. I have realized that I have made the mistake of adding ammonium sulfate solution rather than the dry crystals to my sample. Is there any way for me to save this protein? sad.gif

You can still add amm. sulph. crystals. Just take into account the
volume and conc. of liquid amm. sulph. you added and then add the crystals
with stirring to the desired conc.
Proteins can be ppt. with amm. sulp. in solution, its just that the volume changes and
there is a limit on your final concentration. But it should be no big deal.
