DNA contamination in RNA extraction - (Jun/03/2005 )

I´ve been performing RNA extractions and although I cannot see genomic DNA in the gel I got and amplificate with introns. What can I do besides try to not touch the interphase ? Please send any original hint

this topic may help on removing DNA from RNA samples.

You can try to treat your RNA sample with DNase. Try touse more unit of DNase or incubate for a longer duration.
However, you have to deactivate the DNase and purify your template first before you proceed to RT-PCR, because DNase might interfere your PCR reaction.
you can also refer to Ambion website to look for suitable product.

Good luck,
