Can Taq polymerase be left at room temperature for a long time - (Apr/20/2005 )
How can I preserve Taq polymerase at roomtemperature for a long time?
well Taq is meant to work at higher tempr, okay if u cannot keep them in -20, atleast refrigerate them at 4degrees. BTW why do u want to preserve it that way...
I am kind of confused as to why you would want to. If it is for storage you could potentially lyophilise it, not sure how it would effect activity though. I believe there are some companies that supply Taq in this way for field work. If it is for a reaction I would spike it with Taq just before cycling.
Thanks for your reply. Do you have protocol to lyophilise Taq polymerase?. I read some patent which use polycinylpropylen and disaccharide for this purpose. But I don't have detailed protocol. Help me if you can.
Sorry I haven't done it myself, only read that it is sometimes shipped that way.
