Agrose gel electrophoresis of bacterial RNA - 23srRNA and 16srRNA were not separated clearly (Feb/16/2005 )

To check the quality of total RNA of bacteria, i run it with common TAE-agrose(1%) on 50V for 30min, but the band of 23srRNA and 16srRNA were not separated clearly,being so different with previous results.who can tell me what probems with the procedure?

i usually run my quality check on a denaturing formaldehyde gel, that should give you the resolution you're looking for
