efficiency of DGGE - (Feb/09/2005 )

I have a question about the DGGE method. I use this method to study the diversity of the bacterial community in sludge of a wastewater treatment plant. I wonder what is the % of the real diversity detected.

As far as i knew u need to do perpendicular gel analysis 1st b4 do the parallel gel analysis. The results obtained from perpendicular gel will suggest the rite denturant % range.
