Whole Blood storage - How to store whole blood for Western analysis (Jan/04/2005 )

I would appreciate it if someone could confirm for me how to store serum for western analysis. i have been told to take 10 mls of whole blood in EDTA bottles and spin them at 1000g x 10min. The supernatant is then to be ciphened off and stored at -20 degrees.

We centrifgate twice and store the plasma at -70 °C.
