ITP substitutes... what? - can I add ITP to my degenerated primers to lower the degeneracy? (Jan/13/2009 )

Hi guys, I need help...
I designed degenerated primers via VectorNTI.
The degeneracy is to high though...
The question is - can I add ITP to my pcr primers? To which nucleotides is inosine complementary?

you can use ditp (to add dI to your primer). dI mimics all so can be used as N.

it is a little pricey so you may want to use it strategically.
