How resuspend protein after (NH4)2SO4 precipitation? - (Nov/09/2004 )

Hi all,

I usually precipitate my protein sample with ammonium sulfate but after centrifugue,it is very difficult to resuspend it in a buffer such as PBS since the precipitate remains very hard in the bottom of the centrifugue tube.

Does anyone know any way to do this more easily?

Thanks in advance

Hi i also do ammonium sulphate ppt for my protein and I resuspend it in sodium phospahate buffer and I don' have any problem about resolving them.Do you study in small amounts?I resuspend by pipeting very slowly in 50-100 microliter buffer usually and how long do you centrifuge?

Thanks for your reply Burcu,

I centrifugue about 50 mL each tube for 15 minutes at 15000 rpm in a Sorval SS-34 centrifugue.
