Actin Antibody short-lived? - (Dec/03/2008 )

Hi,
I've tried to incubate HO-1 and actin Ab's simultaneously and it worked well. Then I added some sodium azide for the antibodies to be reused later. The next time when I used it, the HO-1 bands were still pretty strong but the actin bands almost disappeared!
Have anybody else noticed that actin Ab has a short half-life, or is not compatible with NaN3?
Thanks, Hanhan

I have no idea the difference of half-life between actin and other antibodies, but in our lab we stored the actin antibody with NaN3 routinely and it works well, ups to 2 or 3 months. of course also depends the times you use it. Did you freeze the antibody, keep them in 4 degree. Good luck.

Thanks a lot! I put it at 4C for a few days. I did it again using fresh actin Ab and didn't get signal. The problem is difficult to figure out but seems not with NaN3.
