statistics - gene expression quantification (Nov/09/2008 )

Hi,

I'm checked teh expression of my 5 genes in 9 cell lines using GAPDH as teh control. What statistics do I use to see if the differential expression is significant or not?

Thanks

I have not done RT-PCR so someone will need to correct me.
If you are comparing each combination against a control then individual t-tests should suffice but if you are comparing all combinations as a group then look to use one of the modified t-tests (Tukey, Duncan or S-N-K are three that I remember). In most stats packages, these modified t-tests are usually found in the options of one way anova.
