Loading control - (Oct/28/2008 )

Hi there,

I have a little problem. I'm trying to do western blot with Proteins between 40 and 50 kDa. This is unfortunately also the kDa range where anti-actin, anti-tubulin and anti-gapdh antibodys as loading controls bind. Can you recommend another loading control in a different MW range?

Isn't GAPDH 37kD instead of between 40-50?
Maybe RhoGDI?

Hi there,

yes, GAPDH is 37 kDa but i thought maybe there is a loading control in a completely different MW range like 20 kDa or so...What is RhoGDI?

Thanks Stardust

Between 20-25

Thanks for your reply...I don't think it is a suitable control for me since it involved in apotosis and I'm working on apoptose proteins...guess the expression level will change in my cells after treatment...Thanks anyway!

Try Lamin A - it is about 74 kDa
