How to determine immunogobulins from milk? - (Oct/22/2008 )

Hello,

Could anyone help me on this?

How to determine IgM, IgA, and IgE in powdered milk and other kind of milk such as evaporated milk, condensed/sweetened milk, or liquid milk? What method can I apply? So far I use to work with plasma and sera, I never do this before.

Thank you in advance smile.gif

No expirience with milk but I would try the immunotechnics for serum en plasma.
The first test would be with raw cowmilk because I,m not sure that immunoglobulins in the other milkproducts are functional.
AND use antisera against COW, anti human will not work.

You can perform a sandwich Elisa with unlabelled and Labelled anti isotype mAb's which will give you the different relative concentration. Don't forget to make a serial dilution for each raw and of course include a positive contrĂ´l
