adenovirus CsCl centrifugation - (Oct/15/2008 )

Hi there
I am trying to get a good virus prep using a 2stage CsCl centrifugation step. But no band showed up after the last stage - is there any way to salvage this prep? Also, do you layer the virus band on top of the gradient or the bottom during the last centrifugation step?

Could you try PEG precipitation (here's a protocol) instead, if viral purity is not that critical? CsCl gradient may cause up to 40% viral inactivation.
