Ethanol or isoprapanol to precipitate miRNA? - (Oct/12/2008 )

Dear all,

Hi, in order to precipitate miRNA (including end-ligated miRNA), ethanol or isopropanol is suitable? What is the volume/sample volume? What is the suitable salt and its concentration?

I previously used ethanol (3 vol., 0.4M NaCl, 20 ug glycogen) to precipitate total RNA, small RNAs and end-ligated small RNAs.

Thanks.

Regards,
Yew

generally, we use the isopropanol to precipitate small RNA, volume/sample is 1.5 volume we use NaAc as the salt to help preciptiate (3MOL) the glycogen is used as a marker about RNA precipitation.good luck
