qPCR internal control - (Sep/09/2008 )

Hi,

I ahve never done qPCR before and I would appreciate all the help I can get. I need to check teh expression of beta catenin in a cell line and thus, what internal control would be recommended? actin, GDPDH?

Either one, or both. Last week, I communicated with a scientist who works in SF area, they use five internal controls.

You could also design your own internal control. We use an artificial Lambda control.

See Tambong et al 2007 in the journal of Applied Microbiology. He talks about an IAC (Internal amplification control) that is really easy to make.
