Is there a way to extract RNA and protein from the same sample? - (Sep/05/2008 )

Ideally, I'd like to do qPCR and Western blot...is it possible?

However there have been multiple reports of failure at Bioforum by people trying to use Trizol to extract both RNA and proteins. Efficiency/success may be related to tissue type. I would suggest doing a trial run.
