RNA Isolation from bacteria - (Oct/05/2004 )

It is well known that half life of bacterial RNA is very short and unstable. I am doing macroarray experiment with bacteria, and it is very important to prevent RNAs from being degraded during collecting cell. I tried it with 5% cold phenol/industrial-grade alcohol, but not sure whether it will work well .Would anyone there like give me some suggestions on it.

Thanks in advance.

we have had good experiences with RNAlater from Qiagen. maybe worth a try for you?

Try Qiagen kit Bacteria later, works great
