minus or postive strand - (Aug/25/2008 )

hi all,

IWhy some gene located in minus strand and some in positive strand? Thanks in advance

It is because DNA is antiparellel double strand, hence named + and -. And both of the strands contains genes. Transcription requires only single strand. it uses either negative or positive strand where the gene is located. base pair in different strands are complimentary and codons is different when transcribed in RNA. I hope this will help you to understand.
