Methyltransferase specificity - (Aug/12/2008 )

does methyltransferases which are dedicated to cytosyl of DNA, target other cytosyls or even CTP or cCMP itself?

I'm pretty confident that they only target bases inside of a polymerized context. not individual nucleotides, nucleosides, or clyclic-monophosphates.
