DMSO for protein stability at -80oC - protein storage (Aug/07/2008 )

Hello. My problem is on protein storage. My purified protein precipitates after storage at -80oC. Someone suggested to add DMSO to a final concentration of 20%, but I've read somewhere to add glycerol, 25 to 50%. I would really appreciate if someone can help me with my problem. Thank you very much.

I would use glycerol; to stabilize a protein, some ionic strength or trace elements may be necessary...

I have also used Glycerol for storage purposes.
