PRC reagents and equipments - Is a PCR machine robust? (Jul/18/2008 )

Hi!
We have in our lab 2 Eppendorf PCR machine 9Mastecycler) and people from the lab bother me
because sometimes I use it all day and overnight (I did this during 5
days). They say the equipment get overused and it will be burn.
In my opinion, the themocycler is a robust equipment.
Could you please give me some light about this issue? Thanks! Angela

Can we use RAPD-PCR for studying polymorphism in insects belonging to a particular family or can it be used only to study the same species from different ecotypes?
