yeast transformation problem - (Jul/11/2008 )

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and pardon me if I post it at the wrong section.

I have encountered problems with yeast transformation. I am using S.c Easy Comp Transformation kit from invitrogen, and it's been 3 days and I am not getting any colony..I used the competent cells (prepared according to the kit) that is 2 years old, and the plasmid is from the e.coli transformation..then the selection plate is Sc-Uracil..I am not sure if i did anything wrong..also, if the competent cells are frozen at -80, shouldnt it be okay to use even though it's been 2 years?..any suggestions would be helpful! please HELP!!

THANKS!!

It may not be okay. Efficiency still goes down, and there may be undocumented incidences of freeze malfunction or repeated use and misuse. Use new bugs or at least do a control trasnformation.
