DNA extraction vs purification - help ! (Jul/03/2008 )

why is purification needed ???
i do extract DNA/RNA and use them in PCR and no non-specific bands appear on the gel...

can anyone help ??

I don't understand

Extraction and purification are essentially the same thing. Non-specific bands in PCR are something quite different, usually as the result of bad primer design or not having optimised the PCR.

So what is the question???

i mean ive read that there are DNA/RNA purificatin kits and DNA/RNA isolation kits...
so,why is there such differentiation ???



i know that,but in order to understand the meaning of PURE DNA/RNA i thought that it has something to do with it, in addition to the previous reasons... !!!!
