Measuring Membrane Potentials - (Jun/23/2008 )

Greetings all,

Was hoping to benefit from someone else's expertise. I am working to try and use a few known chemical decouplers to destroy a cells membrane potential. Then I am going to try and reconstitute the gradient using some new techniques. Can anyone suggest a device (the easier and cheaper, the better) than I can order to do such basic measurements? Nothing fancy. Just need to measure changes in the proton gradient upon treatments.

ANY help would greatly be appreciated!

Ussing chambers, but I think you need a monolayer/tissue for them.
