Mitochondrial isolation and storage. - How do I store (Jun/20/2008 )

Im isolating, for NMR, mitochondria from cells which I need to keep intact. Im using a Pierce Kit. I need to know two things. FIrstly, what kind of return does one normally get, ie 10 % or 80%?

The second thing is how is best to store them and when should they be used...within hours, days on ice etc etc.

Im sure someone here is more expert than I am. rolleyes.gif

Thanks Ill have a look. Seems to be subjective and Im working with mammalian cell line mitochondria which may not be as robust as plants.
