multiple gel extractions - (Jun/12/2008 )

I'm looking for a tool that will help extract multiple bands from a gel. It's such a pain to cut out 20+ bands at a time!
Does anyone know of a good tool??

At the moment, I'm using a scalpel (which in case you were wondering-- sucks!)

thanks.

I personally never heard of such a tool. If one exists, I sure would like to know about it! It looks like we're stuck doing it the old-fashioned way

I received a sample of X-Tracta recently for this purpose. I haven't tried it yet but it looks like a cookie cutter for gels. Looks promising, I will let you know once I actually try it

i built my own using industrial razor blades, lucite strips as spacers, lucite for the body and cover, and glue.

GeneCatcher disposable gel excision tips
I havent tried these, but they look useful if you can afford them.
