Aniline cleavage of RNA - (Jun/06/2008 )

Hi all, I have a question about aniline, or rather how to prepare it. I work with ricin a-chain variants and am attempting to get a gel picture of the cleavage fragment that occurs after chain scission by aniline. Most protocols call for aniline acetate ph 4.5 but I have been unable to find this chemical for purchase or find a recipe for it. If anyone has one that would be great. I have purchased aniline from fisher.

adjust the pH of the aniline with acetic acid.

will become acetanilide over time so make it fresh when you need it.
