housekeeping gene for comparing gene expression between tumor and normal tissue - (May/07/2008 )

Dear all,


Could you suggest a housekeeping gene which is suitable for comparing gene expression by qPCR between tumor and normal tissue. We used internal control like HPRT1, however, seems like HPRT1 is high expression in tumor too, and normalized the expression rate of our gene of interest.

Off the top of my head, how about 18S RNA. I have heard its perhaps the best constitutive expression gene know, even better than B-gobin and the like.
