how to find the intron size - (May/07/2008 )

hi, dear all:
i want to know if my pcr product is really from genome DNA. can anyone please tell me how to find the genome sequence of a gene. actually i want to know the length of introns so that i can tell the contaminated bands more accurately.

If you are lucky the sequence is in Ensembl.

http://www.ensembl.org/index.html

Transcripts can be viewed showing introns and exons in Ensembl.

-> go to pubmed

-> select "gene" in the search box

-> type eg. the gene symbol in the right box, click "go"

-> click on the link of your desired gene

-> the screen changes and in the display box select "gene table"

-> ta-dah!
