DNA manipulation programs (or webs) - (May/07/2008 )

Hi, Everybody,

When you sequence your DNA with T7 terminator, which program do you use to get the forward sequence and which program (or web) do you use for DNA alignment? Are there any programs for free? I know GeneRunner does. I downloaded, but i can not open it. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

The Staden software (http://www.sanger.ac.uk/Software/production/staden/) is free, but a little difficult to get to know it. I think there's also a module in the free VectorNTI (for academia), but as I haven't worked with that, so I don't know if it is any easier than the Staden software. The Lasergene program Seqman is quite user-friendly, but not for free.
